Key Responsibilities

Calling emergency medical services when required.

Communicating safety instructions clearly to visitors.
Reporting accidents, hazards, and safety incidents to management.
Supporting emergency evacuation procedures.
Maintaining professional behaviour and alertness throughout the duty period.
Day-to-Day Lifeguard Tasks
Inspecting the assigned pool or aquatic area before opening.
Checking rescue and safety equipment.
Monitoring swimmers from the designated lifeguard position.
Watching for signs of distress or unsafe activity.
Communicating with swimmers and visitors about safety rules.
Responding to incidents and emergencies.
Assisting with first aid according to training.
Recording incidents and reporting them to supervisors.
Coordinating with other lifeguards and facility staff.
Maintaining awareness of weather and environmental conditions where applicable.
Checking that restricted or hazardous areas remain properly controlled.
Completing end-of-shift safety checks and handover.
